pearl harbor

Two men in silent contemplation.

Flag through the ceiling of the Arizona memorial.

It's true that that the USS Arizona still leaks oil.

Pics of Colorado coming soon.

Gandhi's toe brings luck

In Waikiki there is this great statue of Gandhi. People come and place flowers and leis on it. Whenever I was in Waikiki I made it a point to rub his toe. It always brought me luck.

Iraqi Woman in Field

A picture Jeremy took in Iraq. She was harvesting something from those patches of grass. It leaves me feeling sad. Everything about this picture is harsh, from the barbed wire fence to the trash in the background. She is the only 'soft' thing in the entire picture. I often wonder what she is thinking at that moment.

Iraq through Scope

This is an interesting photo that Jeremy took in Baghdad, Iraq.

One of Them

Jeremy posing with the crew. It was taken at a wax museum on our vacation to California. It rained on our Knott's Berry farm day so we ended here. I like this picture because at first glace, Jeremy looks like part of the crew. It makes me laugh every time.

Pineapple

Pineapples were such a large part of my life in Hawaii. I lived right next to a pineapple field and it smelled delicious in the heat. I passed the Dole pineapple plantation every day, which sold the best pineapple ice cream floats. I even had a tiny pineapple growing in my front yard before someone cut it down.

David's coconutz

David on the North Shore playing around with some coconuts. This picture is funny, but what I love the most is how his clothes are the same colors as the mountains, sky, and ocean.

Sunset on North Shore

This is my favorite photo at the moment. It was taken somewhere on the north shore of Oahu. The guy in the center is a stranger and I remember being so annoyed that he was going to be in my picture. But I love the way it came out.
